How to Get There
Take the Natadola turn-off from Queens Road and drive for around 15 minutes. Turn right at the sign for Yatule, about 50 metres before the InterContinental turn-off. Follow the road up the hill past the building site, back down past Yatule Resort, and continue to the car park next to the InterContinental.
Where to Park
Parking at the muster point itself is limited, though there's some space further up the beach and roadside near the muster point. Please use the main car park next to the InterContinental where possible (see map).
Where to Meet
The muster point is at Shangri-La's picnic ground, roughly halfway up the beach — an 8-minute stroll from the main car park.
Areas We're Targeting
We have four areas that we're targeting:
- Area A The biggest but least polluted area — above the creek, at the top of the beach.
- Area B Between the picnic area and the creek.
- Area C Between Yatule and the picnic area, including the road and lakeside.
- Area D Between Yatule and the InterContinental, including the car park and surrounding area.
The Process
Meet at the Muster Point to register and receive a wristband for morning tea and water, then collect your bags and gloves — you'll be directed to an area to work on. Area A is our starting point, with the earliest arrivals sent there first. Areas B and C are the worst affected, and we'll do a slow crawl across both. Area D will be covered by the massage therapists and our later arrivals.
Sharps & Dangerous Objects
Every section has a dedicated sharps collection team. If you come across a sharp or dangerous object, call for the sharps team and they'll come and collect it — please don't handle it yourself.
We plan to be done and dusted by 10am — enjoy a job well done, then enjoy our favourite beach, sparkling clean.
